Italy - Toll Exemption on the A18 Motorway (Messina–Catania)

Following the damage caused by Cyclone Harry in Sicily in January 2026, an exceptional toll exemption has been introduced on the A18 motorway (Messina–Catania).
This measure also applies to journeys made using Telepass devices.
 

Validity period

The exemption is valid from 1 February 2026 until 31 May 2026.
 

Scope of application

The toll exemption applies exclusively to journeys within the following toll sections:

• Roccalumera – Taormina
• Roccalumera – Giardini
• Taormina – Giardini

The measure applies in both travel directions and only for journeys entirely within the above-mentioned perimeter.

No action required

Journeys performed on this section during the exemption period will not be charged.
